Pre-conference Workshop (morning of August 25th, 2021)
Open Science – A working path to shared principles and behaviours
Open Science can be defined as a set of principles and behaviours that promote transparent, credible, reproducible, and accessible science (Syed, 2019). Yet there is a lack of consensus, and even ambiguity, regarding the many practices that fall under the umbrella of Open Science. The aim of this workshop is twofold: First, to uncover the multifaceted meaning of Open Science; second, to provide a practical, step-by-step guide for pre-registering quantitative and qualitative research. The workshop will furthermore discuss the unique challenges that scholars working on topics of diversity, migration, and education may face when promoting Open Science in their own research.
This workshop is for everyone interested in critically examining and improving their own research practices. Early career researchers are particularly welcomed to join the workshop.
